Sharpening machines are equipment used for sharpening one end of rounded or debarked logs.
There are two main types of these machines:
- Machines for pyramid (4-sided) sharpening.
- Machines for cone sharpening.
The 4-sided sharpening machine consists of a rotating disc with knives, where the operator feeds the log,
pressing one end against themselves, then turns the log 90 degrees and repeats the process three more
times.
The cone sharpening machine consists of a rotating conical cutter (30 degrees) with knives, on which the
operator feeds the rounded log manually or using a carriage.
